Gyal is on a mission

to encourage the Caribbean woman to be bold and create opportunities which enable her to achieve her highest potential by connecting girls and young women in the region with the aim to share ideas, experiences, and skills leading to an enhanced quality of life.

Soka Gyal aims to break the cycle of poverty by consciously putting girls and women at the center of community development and revitalization. It is about creating a new foundation of community agency in a culture that values ethical, entrepreneurial, creative Caribbean women leaders. Soka Gyal focuses on creating opportunities, developing self-confidence and interpersonal skills, making ethical decisions and healthy life choices, thriving academically, embracing leadership, and having the ability to  support girls’ safe passage to enter college, the workforce, and creating their own business as fully prepared and connected adults.

Soka Gyal’s program model addresses the specific developmental needs of adolescence and young adulthood.

Keep up with the Soka Gyal movement @sokagyal.
